THE DRAMA CENTRE

Terms and Conditions

Effective from June 2026

By enrolling yourself or your child with The Drama Centre ("TDC"), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

​

1. Registration and Acceptance

1.1 Registration for any class, workshop, tuition session, examination preparation programme or event constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

1.2 The Drama Centre reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on our website and communicated where appropriate.

1.3 The Drama Centre reserves the right to refuse or terminate enrolment where necessary to protect students, staff, the organisation or the learning environment.

2. Fees and Payment

2.1 Monthly subscriptions are payable in advance via the designated payment system.

2.2 In-school clubs are payable per term unless otherwise stated.

2.3 Subscription fees are calculated across 12 months of the year and spread evenly to provide a consistent monthly payment. As a result, payments continue during school holidays, half terms and August.

2.4 Failure to maintain payments may result in suspension or removal from classes.

2.5 Any outstanding fees remaining unpaid after reasonable attempts to recover payment may be referred for legal recovery and debt collection. Any associated recovery costs may be added to the debt where legally permissible.

3. Notice Period and Leaving Classes

3.1 A minimum of half a term's written notice is required if a student wishes to leave The Drama Centre.

3.2 Notice must be submitted by email.

3.3 Notice periods begin from the date written notice is received.

3.4 Fees remain payable throughout the notice period whether or not the student attends lessons.

3.5 Failure to provide the required notice period will result in the notice period fees becoming immediately payable.

4. Missed Classes

4.1 Missed classes due to student absence are non-refundable and cannot be credited.

4.2 The Drama Centre is unable to offer replacement classes for individual student absences.

4.3 Parents should notify The Drama Centre as soon as possible if a child is unable to attend.

5. Venue, School Closures and Class Cancellations

5.1 If a class cannot take place due to the closure, cancellation, unavailability or restricted use of a school, venue, landlord, third-party provider or facility, The Drama Centre shall not be liable to provide refunds, credits, fee reductions or compensation.

5.2 This includes but is not limited to:

  • School closures

  • Venue cancellations

  • Venue double bookings

  • Building maintenance issues

  • Adverse weather conditions

  • Health and safety concerns

  • Utility failures

  • Emergency situations

  • Local authority restrictions

  • Circumstances beyond The Drama Centre's reasonable control

5.3 The Drama Centre will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative lessons, online classes, substitute venues or make-up sessions where practical.

5.4 The provision, format, timing and availability of any replacement lesson shall be entirely at the discretion of the Principal of The Drama Centre.

5.5 No guarantee is given that cancelled class time will be rescheduled.

5.6 The Drama Centre reserves the right to move classes online, alter lesson formats, change venues or amend schedules where reasonably necessary.

6. Workshops and Holiday Programmes

6.1 Workshop bookings are non-refundable unless cancelled by The Drama Centre.

6.2 Transfers may be offered at the discretion of The Drama Centre.

6.3 The Drama Centre reserves the right to alter workshop content, tutors, venues or schedules where necessary.

7. LAMDA Examinations

7.1 Examination entries are confirmed only once payment has been received.

7.2 Once an examination entry has been submitted to LAMDA, no refund can be provided under any circumstances unless LAMDA themselves issue a refund.

7.3 Examination administration fees are non-refundable.

7.4 Students absent from an examination remain liable for the full examination fee.

7.5 Any outstanding examination fees may be legally recovered.

8. Retained Place Fee

8.1 Students wishing to temporarily pause attendance may request a retained place arrangement.

8.2 A retained place fee of 50% of the normal class fee will apply.

8.3 Failure to pay the retained place fee may result in the place being offered to another student.

9. Behaviour Expectations

9.1 Students, parents and visitors are expected to treat staff, volunteers and fellow students with respect.

9.2 Bullying, harassment, intimidation, abusive language, threatening behaviour or discrimination will not be tolerated.

9.3 The Drama Centre reserves the right to remove or permanently exclude any student, parent or visitor whose behaviour is deemed unacceptable.

9.4 Exclusion does not remove liability for any outstanding fees.

10. Uniform

10.1 Drama Centre uniform may be required for classes, performances, examinations and events.

10.2 Specific uniform requirements will be communicated separately.

11. Photography and Media Consent

11.1 Where consent has been provided, photographs and video recordings may be used for promotional, educational and marketing purposes.

11.2 Consent may be withdrawn at any time by written request.

11.3 Withdrawal of consent will not require the removal of previously published materials produced while valid consent was in place.

12. Online Lessons

12.1 Where lessons are delivered online, students must participate from an appropriate environment and be suitably dressed.

12.2 A responsible adult must be present in the home for students under 18.

12.3 Recording of online lessons by participants is prohibited unless expressly authorised.

13. Health and Safety

13.1 Students must follow all safety instructions issued by staff.

13.2 Parents must disclose any medical conditions, allergies or additional needs that may affect participation.

13.3 The Drama Centre reserves the right to refuse participation where health and safety may be compromised.

​

14. Force Majeure

14.1 The Drama Centre shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters

  • Floods

  • Fire

  • Epidemics or pandemics

  • Government restrictions

  • War

  • Civil unrest

  • Terrorism

  • Utility failures

  • Industrial disputes

14.2 In such circumstances The Drama Centre may provide alternative delivery methods but shall not be obliged to issue refunds.

15. Complaints

15.1 Any concerns or complaints should be raised promptly in writing to allow an opportunity for resolution.

15.2 The Drama Centre will investigate complaints fairly and professionally.

15.3 Malicious, defamatory or knowingly false statements intended to damage the reputation of The Drama Centre may result in legal action.

16. Liability

16.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability where exclusion would be unlawful.

16.2 The Drama Centre's total liability shall be limited to the fees paid for the relevant service.

16.3 Parents remain responsible for ensuring their child is collected promptly at the end of classes.

​

17. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
